Fruit Sauce

Thaw fruit; Drain mixed fruit, reserving syrup.  Measure syrup.  Add enough water if necessary to make 2/3 c. liquid.  In a saucepan stir together fruit syrup mixture and cornstarch.  Cook and stir till fruit syrup mixture  thickens and bubbles.  Cook and stir 2 minutes more.

Dave’s Favorite Christmas Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2½ cups flour
  • 2 lb. dates (halved)
  • 1 lb. candied cherries (halved)
  • 1 lb candied pineapple
  • 2 cups whole walnuts
  • 1 cup whole filberts
  • 2 cups whole almonds
  • 2 cups whole Brazil nuts

Add brown sugar, margarine, and eggs to a large bowl. Stir in cinnamon, soda, salt, and flour. Mix in the dates, cherries, pineapple, walnuts, filberts, almonds, and Brazil nuts.

Shape into tight balls. Bake 10–15 minutes at 350° F. Cool to mellow.

Ingredients Two packages of firm tofu Two Tofurkey Italian Sausages Cilantro or basil, generous amount (choose either depending on desired flavor profile) Garlic Onions, diced Tomatoes, diced Brewers yeast Salt Optional additions: chopped zucchini, chopped bell peppers, cauliflower rice, Tortillas Drain tofu and wrap in

  • One package Phyllo Dough
  • One cup unsalted butter (two sticks)
  • One cup sugar
  • Two teaspoons cinnamon
  • Two cups chopped nuts
  • ½ cup honey

Preheat oven to 350° F.

Melt butter in a bowl.

Mix sugar, cinnamon, and nuts in a bowl.

Arrange sheets of Phyllo Dough three at a time flat in a 9×13 inch pan. Brush every three sheets generously with butter. After six sheets sprinkle with nut mixture. Repeat until finished with the last sheets of Phyllo Dough. Top with butter, cut into diamonds and drizzle over with honey.

Place in oven for 45–55 minutes.

Everyone in our family likes this recipe. 

1 cube margarine
1 qt. cottage cheese
6 cups Special K
1 medium Onion, chopped (or 1 Tbsp. onion powder)
¼ cup milk
5 eggs
1 cup nuts, chopped (or not)
3 pkg. dark brown George Washington broth

Mix all ingredients together. Put in 9×13 inch pan and bake at 350° F for 1 hour.
